ECAT GM rules with ATU on grievance!

4/13/09 - ECAT Interim General Manager Kenneth Gordon sent Local Union President Mike Lowery a letter today answering the grievance filed on behalf of long time Union member Jan Fillingim.  The grievance was filed objecting to the Company forcing Operator Fillingim to use her sick leave and FMLA time at the same time.  Fillingim wanted to use only her sick leave and not use FMLA after having surgery which will keep her out for several weeks.

Union President Mike Lowery and VP Larry Smith met with Gordon during the last step of the grievance process prior to arbitration and provided contract notes taken by Larry Smith showing that the agreement was to allow workers the chose of using their sick leave and/or FMLA.
