County Labor Attorney rejects August 12th for Arbitration Mike Mattimores office contacted Union President Mike Lowery and stated they can not do the arbitration for August 12th for Bobby Nigh. Mattimore who is the labor attorney for the County seems to be dragging his feet. They are trying to push this arbitration in to September. The Union with the approval of the arbitrator has now offered August 26th for the case to be heard. So far no response from Mattimore's office. Charles (Bobby) Nigh was terminated in May. The County contend that Bobby was violating the workplace violence policy. Nigh who met with his supervisors over an evaluation demanded copies of paperwork on him. The ranking supervisor would provide the paperwork and actually slammed his fist on the table several times as told by Nigh. This caused Nigh to march over to the Director of Solid Waste and demand that he receive an appointment with her immediately. When the Directors assistant told him he had to wait for another week, Nigh told the assistant that "someone better do something about that supervisor, if he keeps ponding his fist on the table at me, the County might have to have the green and whites (County sheriff Department) present outside the gate. Nigh has been working for almost 21 years for the County. While reviewing his file it appears he has close to 50 commendations in his personel file. Plus there was no progressive discipline in the case. There were not anger management classes given. The Union feels very confident about getting Mr. Nigh's job back.
